My research is focused on understanding spatiotemporal aspects of forest dynamics and change. I work extensively with remote sensing data, particularly lidar and multi-spectral time series, to capture how forests vary across space and time. I am particularly interested in the drivers, patterns and impacts of forest dynamics and my research adopts an integrative perspective, linking ecological processes with remote sensing approaches, to enhance our understanding of forest ecology in the context of change.

I joined NMBU in August 2025 after completing my PhD in geography from Queen's University (Canada) and, earlier, a joint BSc in biology and geography at Trent University (Canada).

Research interests

  • Spectral and structural remote sensing of forests and change
  • Habitat, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning and monitoring
  • Multi-scale spatiotemporal modelling of forest dynamics
